Artist: Violise Lunn

I am so fascinated by paper art.
I love it when an artist can transcend the expected and emerge into the unexpected.

"Allowing herself to divide her time between these two artforms, the usable and the useless, Violise Lunn lets them feed each other with inspiration. Their origin is the same – to permit dreaminess and the search for perfection."

Artist Violise Lunn from Denmark does just that.

Madame de Pompadour

This is a painting.

This is NOT.

A custom sewn garment by Minnie and some amazing photography!

She is a costume design student from New Zealand who has just graduated. It's really too bad she's not more talented.

Le Petite Manchette at Burda Style by Minnietheminks.

Topsy Turvy Design

I don't know what I love the most about Kim Brown-Dye's designs.
Her millinery work, her costumes and styling or her photos.
Are these all to die for?
She sells her work at Topsy Turvy Design on etsy.

Opera coat

I've never had much interest in opera.

In fact I'm not sure if its correct to say,
"I've never had much interest in
the opera
or just, in opera".

I saw this design and realized I have a coat that reminded me of it.

The fact that I own this beautiful vintage wool coat should be enough of a reason to attend one someday.

The entire coat is covered with a silk cream couched design.
It has a distinct 1920's cut.
Very Erte'.

Ferrini Gal owns these shoes.

Are they to die for?

So I may have to come up with an opera to attend otherwise it's off to musical theater.
Do you think I could wear this to Wicked?
After all it is green!
(Disclaimer: I had so much fun editing these photos that the colors are all over the board. I didn't realize it until I posted them all together. But you have to admit, they do look rather cool!)
