How do you know when you're not in California anymore?
When you look outside on August 1 and see this.

These are not dew drops.
These are RAIN DROPS!
Every time we have traveled to Oregon it has rained!
That must be why Oregon has flowers and gardens that look like this...
and can be planted in containers like this!
After the rain settled we traveled to the town of Silverton to see the
Homer Davenport Day Parade.
Yes, this is an Elvis impersonator...

and yes this is the local nurses performing in the Bedpan Brigade.

And I did what I tell my children to never do!
I met up with someone I met on the internet!
Well, here in blogland and it was Sammy!
You know Sammystuff!

That was Awesome! She took me to two of the Russian fabric stores in the area

and then off to her AMAZING STUDIO!

Talk about overwhelming! I could hardly breath!

OMG! Do you have relatives that live in Silverton????? Our dear family friends have lived there forever.....as a teen I'd go there to work in the cannery with my best friend to make extra money. I've been going up there for as long as I can remember AND they are relatives of Homer Davenport!!!!!!
