aDRESSing and Pink Artist

The mail out date for
July 1
Having just returned from driving through El Paso, Texas
I was greatly affected by the cultural division.
One large cyclone fence divides two cultures.
One of extreme wealth and the other side extreme poverty.
Same dirt, same rain, same sun, same air, same water....just a cyclone fence.
On one side, the consumers of the products produced by the sweat shops on the other.
One side has laws and a legal system that will pursue serial killings with vengeance.
The other side is allowing murders to take place within what many believe to be a corrupt system.
Over 400 women have now been murdered in Juarez.
Had it not been for Monica, at Girl Gone Thread Wild I would have never known about this.
Making a piece of art seems so insignificant, yet prayerfully will help draw more attention.

Monica, is not only a fantastic artist but she is a great encourager for artists to take a stand for social issuse.
The
is now in the works.
A fundraiser for Susan G Komen for the cure, breast cancer awareness.
Go on over to Girl Gone Thread Wild for more info about both of these project.
Remember Jenny Doh's speech, Art Saves!

Thank you for talking about this on your blog..we have the same situation over here with money spent on more big shops in the city whilst no money is spent on the poorer areas of the city..its a disgrace. On a more positive note thanks so much for the gorgeous charms that arrived today. I particularly like that sundae one its superb..have blogged about them
