Mandarin Jacket

Project of the day.

OK, two days.

This was for a client who is on her way to a Mandarin themed party at the Jarvis Winery.

The fabric is a beautiful silk damask with embroidered butterflies. Since the hand of the fabric was so heavy and the print so large, I opted out of the pockets. Besides, I hate doing welt pockets. The pattern called for a front hook closure but I didn't want the bulk, so instead I placed an invisible zipper up the back.
It fits like a glove.
