It's apron season.
Can there be a season for aprons or is everyday an apron day?
I'm thinking about putting some of these on Etsy.
Tell me what you think please.
Abby at a Feathered Nest 's apron swap is coming to a close.
Check out the Flickr site to see some of the wonderful creations.
Here is an adorable poem I found....enjoy.
Grandma's Apron
by Tina Trivett
The strings were tied, It was freshly washed, and maybe even pressed.
For Grandma, it was everyday to choose one when she dressed.
The simple apron that it was, you would never think about;
the things she used it for, that made it look worn out.
She may have used it to hold, some wildflowers that she'd found.
Or to hide a crying child's face, when a stranger came around.
Imagine all the little tears that were wiped with just that cloth.
Or it became a potholder to serve some chicken broth.
She probably carried kindling to stoke the kitchen fire.
To hold a load of laundry, or to wipe the clothesline wire.
When canning all her vegetables, it was used to wipe her brow.
You never know, she might have used it to shoo flies from the cow.
She might have carried eggs in from the chicken coop outside.
Whatever chore she used it for, she did them all with pride.
When Grandma went to heaven, God said she now could rest.
I'm sure the apron that she chose, was her Sunday best.
I miss you Grandma...

Oh, it has been great seeing you psoted a comment in my blog!!!!
you know what? after checking all your aprons I have reached a conclusion: They are , as French said, Haute couture aprons!!!!! ^^
It is true that in the schools they are giving more importance to sciences in detriment of subjects such as arts and languages (I'm a MFL teacher, though I teach music too, sometimes).
The other day I was wearing a handmade totebag in the shape of an electric guitar, and the Textiles teacher stopped me to see it, as the girls (just girls why?) are working on tote bags this term and she thought it could be quite inspirational for them.
I hope everyone realises that art is not only to hand on the walls but things you can use and wear every day, therefore they will pay more attention to it.
oh, gosh!!! Have it written all that???? Sorry @_@
Thanks for letting me know about using the poem...please link to my blog if you could. Your aprons are gorgeous! Love the beads. :)
Those are amazing! They would make a perfect apron for special occasions.....like a "Birthday" apron, one that you wear when serving the birthday cake!

Hi..........Buddy!
Trying my hand at leaving a first time blog comment, and not a moment too soon. Seems there are many who feel the way I do about you and what you create. I can only add this to those who do not know you personally like I do..........the person behind this art is as beautiful inside and out as what she creates. You will not meet a nicer person, or a better friend.......and it shows in every stitch, and brush stroke.
The aprons are to die for.......they might even persuade me to be in the kitchen round the clock. Aprons are the next have to have accessory! They can also be worn as capes........to flee the kitchen too if need be....I have found.

What time's dinner? lol
Wow, be still my aching heart! I long to get my hands on one of these to wear in the kitchen... not that I'd be cooking, I'd just model the gorgeous attire while walking tiles like a runway!
Marvelous d'ling! The giant ties/bows are wonderful!
Sorry for all the exclamations, but this sight warrants the Xcitement!!!
Having abit o' email woes, haven't any idea why. So if you have not r'cvd my reply email to you, hang in there.... trying to get to the bottom of this.
