"Take Flight"

" Take Flight"
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.
Psalm 139:9-10

They have taken flight...right over to Monica at Girl Gone Thread Wild. I just finished it and put it in the mail. The 2"x 2"s were left overs from the "Love Squared" art doll that was auctioned off for cancer awareness. Monica is now putting together a quilt with these 10" x 10"s and I am honored to be one of the artists participating.

God has blessed me with the ability to sew and create....that's it.
I'm an artist.
So, to be able to create something that someone else will pay money for, to this day still amazes me. Monica is going to create these into an art quilt to raise money for Susan G Komen for the cure and breast cancer awareness.

And that's a good thing because I hate cancer!
I hate that I have friends that have died from it.
I hate that I have friends that are living with it.
I hate that I have friends that have been recently diagnosed with it.
I hate the word.
I even hate when people refer to their "zodiac sign" as cancer!

In some minuscule, small way I hope that my little piece of art has "Taken Flight" to a bigger cause.

I look forward to a cure.

This ones dedicated to you Cedrick.

Hi Sabi! Your 10x10 is so beautiful. How did you know who made each of your squares? I did not receive that information - I wish I had it is lovely you were able to know a bit about them.
Your blog is truly a feast for the eyes. I am so happy I came to visit and will most certainly be back.
